Camping World Opens Three New Stores in Georgia
According to Camping World Regional Vice President Bruce Wright, The fact that we are opening three stores in these markets indicates that they are large and important for our company. Camping Time RV customers are buzzing about it which is one of several indications that the market is anticipating our openings and there is a strong demand for our products and services.
The openings push the rapidly growing retailers store count to 63. Camping World is on a steep store opening arc and expects to add another 20 to 25 additional stores in 2007 and to be at the 100 mark by 2008. Marcus Lemonis, Chief Executive Officer of Camping World commented, We are very much on target with our plans to reach these goals because we have the focus, talent and processes in place to make it happen efficiently. Its amazing to observe our associates executing so well.
The locations, including Snellville at 2912 West Main; Oakwood at 4696 Smithson Blvd and Woodstock at 505 Parkway 575, provide solid coverage of this robust and growing metropolitan market. The largest of the three stores in Snellville boasts 9,200 square feet and the others at 2,900 square feet respectively.
The brisk expansion of Camping World is well timed to respond to growing consumer demand as the outlook for the RV and RV supplies and accessories market burgeons, topping lists of US growth industries. A recent study by the University of Michigans Survey Research Center found that one in 12 U.S. vehicle-owning households now own an RV. There are now 7.9 million households in the U.S. with a RV. This figure indicates a 58 percent rise in RV ownership since 1980. This study also anticipates similar growth in the future, thus providing the catalyst for additional Camping World stores across the country.
